I mentioned last time that We had been setting up some web-cams for Ramsey, with some linked advertising.

They have been monumentally successful, getting as many as 1000 visitors a day and loads of positive feedback and traffic, particularly during the TT period.

I have also been playing around with their output and we have produced a couple of YouTube videos and a DVD of the view of Parliament Square in Ramsey during the 24 hours of Mad Sunday (6th June). It has made me really interested i the possibility of using these web-cams for time-lapse photography and i intend to spend some time on a related project in the next few days.

I've had a busy few days. I honestly didn't think that the web-cam thing would be popular, but everyone who has been shown the site likes the idea and we already have a couple of potential advertisers.

We also have three cams now, and at least one more to go into the Town Hall. I am using a lot of javascript includes to make site maintenance easier and have written a custom application to manage all aspects of the site. It will stand me in good stead when I come to do the shopping system I have promised for people who cannot afford VENDA fees.

I have also managed to finish the books I have been working on for my friends Michael Starkey and Frank Crompton. That's three new books in the last two weeks, with at least two more being worked on at present.

I'm enjoying the programming, the site design and especially the book work, so hopefully it will keep coming.

I have spent a little time this last week or so playing around with some web-cam related stuff. We are setting up a new web-site called RamseyCam and needed to have a decent camera that would work well in changing light conditions.

After seeing some working examples we finally settled on a y-Cam. They seem to be pretty good for the money and not as expensive as some would be. Our first camera is up and running at the above site. We hope to have some more working in the next couple of weeks and then can really get the site going.

The Empire Starts Growing, lol.

I have another book arrived, this one of my Panorama Photos of the Isle of Man. It is yet another 13" x 11" big hard-back and is about 200 pages. it's really nice and available on Blurb as usual.

I am also waiting for the arrival of a book of TT 2009 Photos. I have called it TT2009 - By the Numbers and hopefully it contains at least one picture of each rider who got as far round the course as me in the 2009 TT races. Again available on Blurb this one is an 8"x 10" Landscape and available in soft or hard-back.

To top this all off I am currently working on a B/W paperback that is my take on Setting up VENDA web-sites from scratch. It will hopefully have loads of info and step-by-step guides to using the VENDA platform.

Not much to report for the last few days.

I have made some changes and updated the David Kinrade Internet Design Web Site. These are to reflect my new focus on the design and sale of books and design related stuff.

Michele's book duly arrived and was very well received indeed. We are considering it a proof for a limited edition run of the book, and I am working on fixing a few errors and omissions and then ordering another few copies to get us started.

Hopefully more will flow from this simple start soon.
