My first proper Android Phone and Tablet APP is finally released on the android market.

So, I spent most of September in Kenya, invited by Fred and Elizabeth once more to travel with them to see the orphans of Ithumba and beyond.

As always, I have produced a book of my trip's photographs and this time it is an epic 320 page monster. There is a link to it on the right with all the others.

The trip was truly amazing, getting us closer than ever to bigger than ever elephants on foot in the wild.

Well, that was certainly a very long time between posts. Mostly because I have been so busy with programming on SimpleShop and now on android again that I just haven't had the time to look in this direction.

However, when we get into doing major site updates for my own work, it is a good opportunity to do some updates here too.

Made For Android has just been given a major revamp. I am now pushing the imminent arrival of BirdLister, a Bird-watchers logging app for android. I am going to release the Isle of Man version for free, but the versions for other countries will be paid-for.

To help with future support for the app, I have included a user forum on the site, using the brilliantly simple FlooBB to avoid having to use a database on the site. This is just like the method used to make this blog without needing MySQL.

I've been working on some new Windows Applications, mainly because I have to get some things working for other projects and also because I wanted to do something for my own use.

Firstly, PhotoSite Manager is the thing I am now using to build the album section on my photo website at http://www.dkinrade.com. It offers a visual album creator and editor with basic cropping and sizing functions. It takes this information and builds an index and web pages for my site. I hope to produce a commercial version of this soon, as a couple of my customers are interested.

Secondly, SimpleShop is a fully-featured shopping website creation and management program. it lets a client enter stock, choose a site layout, import graphics and text, all in a single application. Once everything is set up, it creates all the pages for the site and uploads it to the client's server. It's a big application and has been created for a customer who doesn't want to pay the £50 per month that VENDA / POWA need to do the same thing.

It isn't yet as polished as the VENDA solution, but it does the basics for a lot less money. I have made a page for all these programs on my business portal at http://www.davidkinrade.com

Just a quick entry about GRAZE. What a great idea for a web-based service. It's one of those "I wish I'd Thought of That!" things.

Anyway, GRAZE send me a box of healthy goodies once a week for just £3.49 which is great.
